Welcome to the some smart book database. Work on this began December, 2008 when I was struck by the notion that it would be worthwhile to keep a record of books that I have read for future reference. There are several reasons I have started this:
- It is not uncommon for me to read a book at a different time than a friend or family member. However, if it has been years since I originally read a book it can be difficult to remember anything more than a vague impression of whether I enjoyed the book. Hopefully this will ease that frustrating experience.
- In scenarios where I have recorded my impressions of a book, I have found looking back on such impressions to be very interesting. The experience one has with a book can be extremely different at different times, and this database will provide me with an opportunity to reflect more effectively on multiple readings of the same book.
- Finally, it is possible that others may find my synopses useful or my critiques interesting.
So, welcome again to the some smart book database. Below you will find the book(s) I am currently reading, a list of the books that were read and inserted into the database most recently, and links to the pages that provide various methods of access to the database. You can also read spoiler free blog entries for many of these books on the main page. Enjoy!
